Introduction

The development of 75 houses at Sandrocks includes several renewable and energy efficient technologies from thermal insulation, energy saving light bulbs to MVHR (mechanical ventilation heat recovery) to solar PV. This is to ensure that the homes achieve Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The client specified that solar tiles were used for the development such s the SolarCentury's C21e roof tile. A proposal of 12 x solar tiles per plot giving a 0.56 kWp was accepted for the first 3 plots of the development.

Current Progress

At present Smart Electrical Services now have completed several houses, the next stage is a block of flats with 3 seperate installations run on a 3 phase supply. The C21E Tile will be fitted on the block of flats. This Solar tile is very unique as it fits in with normal roof tile giving it a flush finish.
